Where we stand:

Seven's picture

Alright, three issues that we're tackling right now, because of the busy-ness of our schedules. Our time is so pressed that we're not really available to work on outside projects.

Issue 1: The issue of new blogger. We had planned to bring Brian on a few months ago, but because of our schedules we never had a chance to sit down and train him because of scheduling conflicts. Our plan now is to bring in another blogger, but we don't want to jinx that before it's secured.

Issue 2: Because we've had an unexpected increase in our workload, we're unable to finish our own personal projects (which were pretty damned awesome, by the way). So we're currently reworking a schedule that will allow us to complete some of our own projects. There are some projects that we weren't able to get to.

Face it, things don't always go as planned. Things break, puzzle pieces get lost, people you taught to play chess so that you could beat them end up beating you. When things go wrong it isn't what you say that counts, its what you do.

New slotting system increases life expectancy!

Joga's picture

Due to an increasing need and the types of projects that we're working on we will be switching to a new slotted scheduling system. Each month there will be an available number of slots scheduled for jobs with the number of openings posted online. This is so each project gets the quality work and attention that it deserves.

We will be restricting new work to two large projects and three smaller projects each month. (If the large project is actually for a complex sites, we will only take on one site per month.)Large projects are ones that include planning, production and development, such as full websites. Smaller projects are the elements that make large projects, creation of graphics, tweaking of code, smaller websites, flash pieces, consultations.

This new scheduling system will enable us to maintain timelines and production of quality work, rather than quantity. And really, who wouldn't rather have something right, than three something wrongs?

Check out Enemybook!

We are very pleased to announce our redesign of Enemybook. Enemybook is a Facebook app that disconnects you to the so-called friends around you. Enemybook was created by MIT student Kevin Matulef and his latest press interview aired today on NPR's, "All Things Considered". Congratulations Kevin!

We're working on our own Facebook app to be released in 2008.

Two weeks ago Seven finished a flyer for an outreach program being conducted by one of the Battered Women's shelters in Baton Rouge. The flyer had to be discreet as many of the women are still in volatile situations.

We're also starting work on the redesign of the Dallas Defenders website. The Dallas Defenders are a law enforcement basketball team who help generate donations for underprivileged children and GI soldiers through a charity basketball tournament. They're police officers who are active in the community in more ways than one.

These are all the client updates so far. We'll be posting a podcast soon, so be sure to listen in. Our topic is going to be how to get the website you want. It's a primer on speaking to design firms and on design firms speaking to clients
